The Mummy Master

Before we get to our "Instrument of Evil" story this week, I totally forgot to post THOIA's tribute to our lovely mummies today! Happy Mummy's Day!

From the March 1955 issue of Beware #14

Who knew that mummies were such bullying oafs! The King Tutankaham exhibit is set to open here in San Francisco next month. I must remember the words: Antkarmen! Rabu! Toth! Perhaps I could...do I dare say it...rule the world?!

I WAS WONDERING IF WE WERE GOING TO GET A MUMMY POST TODAY. A REAL GOOD ONE TOO, NOT THE NORMAL KIND OF MUMMY STORY..........I ALSO NOTICE THE ISSUE DATE IS 1955?? IS THIS POST CODE BECAUSE IT STILL CONTAINED ALOT OF PRECODE ELEMENTS.

Those were supposed to be mummies? They looked more like the three Stooges to me…

Man, happy Mummy Day! I really have to go to this King Tut exhibit that sfdoomed mentioned in SF.

Sarazin's a real genius... walks right past priceless jewels in the museum in order to steal a mummy he wants to use to rob banks.

A most enjoyable story Mr. Karswell. It really had me fliping,I mean, clicking the pages. I especially dig the fact they used one of the Snorks for the intro, and exit lines.

I wonder if the writer of this tale had an aunt named Carmen.

Oh, and detonating not one, but two grenades indoors is always safe... apparently.

The story does indeed include the absolute lamest, unscary horror host of all pre-code comics. Unless of course you find melting jawas terrifying...
